I tried to make this better, and my example is just that, the original, the first image, I like better , not sure. Not my favorite tools yet!

Wow... you really brightened this one up using the burn and doge tools.
What I do like about the remade photo though is the faces on the dog and the gentleman. Oh those puppies are way too cute. When my kids were growing up we had beagles...
