-Hold camera at main objects level
-The light should be ordinarily behind the photographer
-Use a black backgrounds when shooting something light, visa versa
-Portraits, the face is the main subject
-Group shots, try to make all subjects equal
-Linear elements, such as roads, water ways, fences placed diagonally are generally percieved as more dramatic

It is helpful! There's so much to remember when taking a picture I feel like I get lost sometimes. I suppose, though, with more practice it will come easier to me.
Hey! This is really helpful, thanks for posting! I definitely agree with the last one and have found that out a lot when taking pictures of the railroad tracks near my house. Those usually come out to be my favorite and most dramatic pictures. Its cool how an element like that can make a simple picture so interesting!
