I wanted to shoot these horses a week ago,... on my way to work,.. in the pouring rain,..they happened to be right by the road,..burdocks filled their fore locks,.. my caption would of been "and you think your having a bad hair day!" yet i couldn't find them again till today,..they were soo sweet and lovely,..but I was scared for I was trespassing,..didn't get the shot I wanted,..yet you gotta love them better in the right frame,.. with room to go forward,..lets the eye wonder,.. and wander,.. tried a lot of shots these days,... only so many worthy.

Taking pictures while possibly tresppasing used to not bother me at all, but i've been getting a little bit more nervouse these days. Your second horse shot is great, and your right it does send your eyes traveling around the print.
Diana,
Beautiful photos! I see what you are saying about the space in front of the horses of going forward or forward motion.
To my eye, even though the top photo is more centered compared to the bottom photo, I think both photos are following the Rule of Thirds. I think it looks this way because of the horse (top photo) to the left. If the horse that is centered had been there alone it would not have been following the Rule of Thirds. Do you see it or is it just me? : )
What beautiful shots, yesterday in our travels to Jay Peak there were so beautiful horses along the way and I contemplated photographing them but decided against it because of the trespassing thing. although I did stand in the middle of the road to snap some pictures!:)
These are fantastic - It's amazing the difference between the center photo and positioning the horses on the thirds - the more pictures I look at with the thirds, the more I see how much of a difference it makes!
Diana,
I agree with you completely. Before I read the comments I was thinking whether I would be the only one seeing the rule of thirds is the first photo. Of course, the second photo follows the rule of thirds much better.
They are both great. Movement and color...and the white POPS out on the second one like it glows in the dark!
